For 2014 I set myself the target of reading 30 books during the year. So far I've finished 34 which are a mix of printed and ebook. Here's the covers courtesy of Goodreads:
The last one was Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale which is a book I'd been aware of for ages but had never read as I assumed it was some sort of twee historical drama. How wrong I was! Definitely a case of me judging a book by its cover there. This book has made me want to read more by her so I am going to try and read Oryx and Crake by her too.
This book was borrowed from a local library and that is something I'm going to try to do a lot more of. Whilst my "to read" pile at home is still there I've vowed not to buy any more books, or ebooks, for the rest of the year. And downloading pirated versions isn't allowed either. My local library service has a good online account management system and it is possible to reserve books or see where they are in stock.
